Terms of Service

Last updated 23 May 2026

By using Penny, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Penny is

Penny is a companion app. The character "Penny" is an AI-powered chat experience designed to feel like a supportive friend. Penny is NOT a therapist, counselor, sponsor, medical professional, or substitute for any kind of professional care.

If you are in crisis, please reach out to a real person trained to help. The app includes a list of crisis helplines for many countries. Use them.

Important disclaimers

Penny may say things that are wrong, unhelpful, or insensitive. The AI model that powers Penny can and does make mistakes.

Penny is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice.

Using Penny does not guarantee any outcome. Recovery is hard and personal; an app cannot do it for you.

Do not rely on Penny in an emergency. Call your local emergency number or crisis helpline.

The app may have bugs, downtime, or interruptions. We try to keep it running smoothly but make no guarantees.

Your account

There is no account. You don't sign up, you don't log in. Your data is tied to the app only by being stored on your device.
